FAQs

These are questions I frequently get asked about my business or just crochet in general. If your question isn’t here, please feel free to contact me!

I bought a pattern, how do I download it?

When you purchase a pattern, you will receive an email receipt from me. (Please make sure to check your junk/spam folder just in case!) Your purchased pattern(s) are listed inside that email and highlighted in pink. All you have to do is click on the name of the pattern and you will be able to download it! Unfortunately, this website doesn't support digital files being stored in your account so be sure to download your pattern right after purchase so that you don't lose access to it.

Do you sell your finished amigurumis and where can I find them?

No, I do not sell finished crocheted animals at this time and I'm not currently taking custom orders. Occasionally, I will list some toys for sale. If you want to know when this happens, sign up for my newsletter!

Can I share the pattern I bought with a friend?

I would respectfully ask that you not do that. This is the way I make a living. If your friend wants the pattern please direct them to my website so they can buy the patterns they want.

Can I sell the finished items I make from your patterns?

Yes, absolutely! I love it when you sell items made from my patterns, all I ask is that you clearly credit Storyland Amis as the designer and provide a link to my shop or blog if you’re selling your items online. This does NOT, however, give you the right to mass-produce items made from my patterns and I would respectfully ask that you not.

What is amigurumi?

Amigurumi is the Japanese word for knitted or crocheted stuffed animals. Many people shorten the word to ami, so when I refer to amis I’m talking about amigurumis, I’ve just shortened it. There are SO many different styles of amigurumi, but generally, they are characterized by their oversized heads and small bodies (and usually small arms and legs). Even though some people do knit amigurumi, they are almost always crocheted.

I want to learn to make amigurumi, where do I start?

There are a ton of helpful YouTube videos out there, and just as many good written tutorials in books and on blogs. It’s actually quite easy to make amigurumi, so if you’ve been thinking of learning, I would definitely encourage you in it! And as always, please don’t hesitate to contact me if you need a little help getting started or finding the right materials!
