“Whimsical Stitches” Book Review & Giveaway

Hey, all! Today I’m bringing you a very special book review (and a giveaway!) for a very special book by a good friend of mine. Introducing, “Whimsical Stitches” by Lauren Espy, or as you may know her, A Menagerie Of Stitches!

How cute is just the front cover? I knew the moment I laid eyes on this book that I was going to love it. And oh, my! I am so in love with it and all the cute designs! Picking a favorite one is impossible.

As soon as I received it I made a macaron . . . five actually . . . all in one day. They are so fun and colorful I just couldn’t resist! Look how adorable they are!

I wasn’t happy with just macarons, though, so I made this sweet little slice of pumpkin pie.

Honestly, I would have been happy making a lot more patterns (like the succulent and the eggplant!) but alas, life called and I had to move on to other things. BUT, I know a lot of you have more time on your hands than I do and could easily whip up a ton of these cute designs!

The book is laid out beautifully and I love how it’s divided into sections. There is “In the Garden” filled with happy and cute plants, “At the Aquarium” including five adorable sea creatures, “Down on the Farm” with cute and chubby farm animals, “At the Bakery” my personal favorite filled with all the sweetest sweets imaginable, “At the Market” my second favorite that includes the cutest crocheted bell pepper you’ll ever see!

All these designs are so beginner friendly and the stitch guides and step-by-step pictures make working through the patterns enjoyable and fun. I highly recommend this book to beginners and seasoned crocheters alike!

So which design is your favorite? You can find Lauren’s book HERE.
